#28 Cinco de Mayo and Museums in Old Town San Diego

I've never been in the Museums in Old Town before, or celebrated Cinco de Mayo there before,  but I have eaten there before! I hopefully will do it again sometime. Music, dancing, good food and history all in one day!

This gentleman was very informative, while guarding the Courthouse, he imparted the history of why Cinco de Mayo is important to the U.S.
Although it was a Battle between the French and Mexicans, had it not been for the Mexicans engaging with the French and reducing the size of their forces, we may be the Confederate United States today. The French were headed up from Mexico to join the Confederates during the Civil war.
I'm amazed I never learned that before!

Lots of local artisans, dressed in period frocks.

Lunch break!

That is a real man, a docent and gave the history of the school.

Check out the reading assignment on the school house wall!

#27 Hawaiian Festival in San Diego

First time for me to the Festival in Mission Bay!

Lots of stages and dancing and music!

Canoeing lessons, but we just watched.

Food from all over, including my home town!
It was a beautiful day in Mission Bay!

Good deals on Hawaiian shirts and other goodies too!
